Buying a decent instrument is an important part of learning to play the guitar or piano or any instrument for that matter. Resist the urge to go cheap. If you spend just a little more you will get a far better instrument in most cases.

[/fusion_text][/one_full][/fullwidth]In-Home Piano and Guitar Lessons in San Diego
I provide personalized in-home piano and guitar lessons for children, teenagers, and adults in select San Diego communities. Instead of driving to a music studio, you can receive professional, one-on-one music instruction in the comfort and convenience of your own home.
I currently offer in-home lessons in Del Mar, 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Carmel Valley, La Jolla, and selected areas of San Diego. Because I travel between students’ homes, availability depends on your location and my existing teaching schedule.
Lessons are individualized and adapted for each student’s age, experience, and musical interests. I encourage students to learn to read music notation but it is not a requirement to become proficient on an instrument. My goal is to help students make steady progress while enjoying the process of learning to play their instrument.
As students progress in their ability I encourage them to also recommend pieces to me that they would like to learn to play. Their involvement keeps it fun and interesting and I find students speed up the process of learning when they have a connection to the music they are playing.
In addition, as a professional piano tuner I can help piano families better understand the care and condition of their instrument. If you need assistance with the tuning of your piano please let me know.

I have been performing and teaching piano and guitar in the San Diego area for more than 25 years. During that time, I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults at a variety of experience levels.
In addition to teaching, I have experience performing, composing, songwriting, recording, and producing original music. My recorded work includes the Alcorn/Woods album Forever and Killing Time Music’s A Way Out.
