David Alcorn Music provides personalized in-home piano and guitar lessons in select communities throughout the San Diego area. I travel directly to each student’s home, allowing children, teenagers, and adults to receive private music instruction without driving to a teaching studio.
In-home lessons allow students to learn in a convenient and familiar setting. They also allow me to see the instrument the student uses for practice and offer guidance when something about the piano, keyboard, or guitar may be making learning more difficult.
I teach piano using age-appropriate materials, primarily from the Faber Piano Adventures series. For guitar students, I use a flexible combination of standard music notation, tablature, chord charts, method books, demonstration, and songs selected according to the student’s interests.
