David Alcorn Music provides personalized in-home piano and guitar lessons in select communities throughout the San Diego area. I travel directly to each student’s home, allowing children, teenagers, and adults to receive private music instruction without driving to a teaching studio.
I currently provide in-home lessons in Del Mar, 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Carmel Valley, La Jolla, and selected nearby areas of San Diego.

I provide in-home piano and guitar lessons for students in Del Mar. Students can learn on their own piano, keyboard, or guitar in a familiar and comfortable environment.
Availability depends on the student’s location within Del Mar and how the requested lesson time fits with my existing teaching route.
In-home piano and guitar lessons are available to children, teenagers, and adults in 4S Ranch. Having lessons at home can be especially convenient for busy families who would prefer not to add another weekly drive to a music studio.
I offer private in-home piano and guitar lessons in Del Sur. Lessons are personalized according to each student’s age, experience, musical interests, and individual goals.
Students may be complete beginners, returning musicians, or current players interested in developing their skills and musical understanding.
I provide in-home piano and guitar instruction in Carmel Valley. Students receive one-on-one attention and their lessons are individualized to their specific needs.
Lessons can include music reading, rhythm, technique, chords, theory, ear training, and learning complete songs, depending on the instrument and the student’s goals.
Private in-home piano and guitar lessons are available in selected parts of La Jolla. Because travel times can vary considerably within and around La Jolla, scheduling depends on the student’s location and my existing lesson route.

In-home lessons allow students to learn in a convenient and familiar setting. They also allow me to see the instrument the student uses for practice and offer guidance when something about the piano, keyboard, or guitar may be making learning more difficult.
I teach piano using age-appropriate materials, primarily from the Faber Piano Adventures series. For guitar students, I use a flexible combination of standard music notation, tablature, chord charts, method books, demonstration, and songs selected according to the student’s interests.
